Pebble Bowl - Paper Pulp

Pebble Bowl - Paper Pulp

We call this our Pebble Bowl. We're not that creative when it comes to naming our works.

This one was made from paper mache pulp. We used a shallow plastic bowl, lined with cling wrap as a release agent, to get the shape.

The pulp was added in one fairly thin layer and carefully smoothed down.

While it was still wet the small pebbles were pressed into the pulp in a spiral pattern.

Once it was fully dry the bowl was removed from the mould and a second layer of pulp was added to the underside.

This was allowed to dry and then the whole thing was painted with magnolia household emulsion.

Once dry, each pebble was individually hand painted with acrylic and the whole thing was sealed with several coats of matt varnish.
