Paper Mache Sculpture - Gallery

This is our paper mache sculpture gallery.

Some of the sculptures were commissioned and others were made for an exhibition.

To see a larger image and to read more about how the pieces were made, click on the title or the thumbnail.

Paper Mache Baboon

This is Gawie, our paper mache baboon.

He's made from both layered and pulp paper mache as well as other recycled materials.

Mother and Child Sculpture

This large sculpture of a mother and child was originally created for an exhibition.

Since then we have made two similar pieces that were commissioned by people who had seen this original one.

Both commissioned pieces were structured and decorated slightly differently as all of our pieces are one of a kind.

Paper Mache Hippo

This is Alice, our paper mache hippo.

She was made from some left over paper pulp we had from another project.

Karen's mom loves hippos and Alice now adorns her study window.

Paper Mache Rottweiler

Barney is a paper mache dog inspired by a friend's rottweiler.

He is life-sized and likes nothing better than taking up most of the nearest bed.

Sunflowers

These paper mache sunflowers, though not technically a sculpture, are in the sculpture gallery, because they stand out in relief. We used pulp to make the 3 dimensional image.

Paper Mache Surfboard

This is our paper mache surfboard. We use it as a notice board for sticky notes.

We couldn't resist decorating it with the South African flag. I just love the colours and the World Cup being held in SA when we did it made us both homesick.
