Paper Mache Flower Wall Hanging
Recycled Art

Annemarie made this paper mache flower wall hanging from the bottoms of 2 litre plastic water bottles.

Paper Mache Flower Wall Hanging

We wanted to do some recycled art and use up the large plastic water bottles, which were rapidly accumulating in our kitchen cupboards.

Annemarie thought the base of the bottles looked like flowers and decided to make this bright and cheerful wall hanging.

Flower Wall Hanging Detail

Because the flowers are small and intricate, Annemarie used very small strips of paper to cover them.

Once she began painting them, she realised she could've skipped the paper mache altogether and just coloured them with the acrylic paints.

It's a good thing she didn't though or they wouldn't have made it onto the website.

The centres were painted with acrylic onto small plastic circles cut from the water bottle and glued in with super glue.
