Paper Mache Bowls Gallery

This is the gallery of our own paper mache bowls. Click on the thumbnail or the title of the piece to see a larger image and to read about how it was made.

We use both pulp and strip paper mache to make our bowls, sometimes both methods on one project.

We also like to experiment with all kinds of different textures and finishes when we decorate.

Annemarie is definitely the more creative of the two of us when it comes to trying out something new. She will make pots and bowls in all kinds of weird and wonderful shapes, and finishes.

I have to confess that mine are usually round and made from pulp.

Papier Mache Dish

Annemarie made this paper mache dish using the strip method over a wok.

Paper Mache Pulp Beach Bowl

This is one of our earliest works, the Beach Bowl.

It was simple to make but still looks very attractive.

Paper Mache Pulp Bowl

This is our Pebble Bowl.

Actually, it would probably be more accurate to call it a dish or a plate as it is very shallow. I think this one would be nice hung on a wall.

Making it took no time at all but decorating it was quite a mission.

Paper Mache Pulp Bowl Spices

The Spice Bowl was an interesting experiment using up cooking spices from the kitchen to decorate.

This is another shallow one that I think would look good hanging on a wall.

Blue Paper Mache Pulp Bowl

This pulp bowl was fun and easy to make. We decorated it with blue aquarium gravel and acrylic paint.

African Pulp Bowl

This paper mache pulp bowl is decorated with an African influenced theme. It is Karen's private collection.

'Leather Look' Bowl

This 'leather look' bowl was made on an old wok using the strip paper mache method.

Metallic look paper mache pot

We loved the shape of an old container we had and decided to make this little pot using it as a mould.
