African Pulp Bowl

This African pulp bowl was decorated while I was watching a FIFA World Cup match from Cape Town. It got me thinking of all things African and this was the result.

I had the urge to do something with it and this is what I came up with.

I wanted to create a bit of drama so I used the stark black and white of the zebra stripes and added the contrasting brown triangle with the soft dotted pattern.

So far, everyone who has seen it has had a strong reaction to it. They either love it or they hate it.

Annemarie hated it at first and said it looks like two separate works of art. It's growing on her now though and I think she sort of likes it.
