Issue #007, 5th January 2011 Happy New Year and welcome to the first Trash to Treasure of 2011. This year is going to be a busy one for us. We have lots of plans for the website and the e-zine, and there's an ebook in the pipeline too. The first change you'll notice is to the format of the e-zine. We had a few emails from people saying they were having difficulty downloading such a large PDF document so, from now on, the only part of the newsletter that will be in PDF format is the tutorial. Other regular features will be put up on the website and we'll give you links to all of the new content for the month in the newsletter. We're currently working on a FAQ page for the site which will incorporate the answers to all of the questions we receive from visitors. In a couple of months we will be putting a feedback form on the website so you can let us know which format you prefer. In the meantime, if you'd like to comment, you can get in touch via the contact form on the website. I've had my arm in a cast since the end of November and Annemarie is living it up in South Africa for six months, so the website has been neglected a bit during December. However, there will be lots of new content added this month. We'll have all the updates for you in next month's Trash to Treasure. January's Tutorial This month's tutorial is 3 dimensional wall hangings. You can use this method to make pretty much any design you can think of. I chose a lizard for this project because I've always liked them and because it's a fairly simple shape to start off with. You can download the tutorial here. Although this issue is not as 'newsy' as it will be in the future, I hope you enjoy the new format of the e-zine. Until Feb 1st, happy creating, Karen Our tutorial is in PDF format and requires Adobe Reader to view it. You can get a free copy by going to their website if you don't already have it. |
