Issue #008, 1st February 2011

Hi and welcome to the February edition of Trash to Treasure. Can you believe we're already in the second month of the New Year? Wow, time really does fly when you're having fun.

Lots to tell you about this month, but I'll try to keep it short. The change in format of the newsletter means that most of the new stuff is now on the website rather than in the e-zine, so there are no big files for you to download.

New on the site:

We've added a new section to the site called Tips and Tricks.

If you've been reading Trash to Treasure for a while now, you'll recognise most of them from the back issues, but there is a great new one from Gary from Bradford, UK which he calls the Magic Bucket Trick. Brilliant idea, Gary. One I definitely plan to try.

If you have any handy little hints you'd like to share you can now upload them directly to the site via the form on the tips and tricks page.

We've also moved your questions from the e-zine to the website. If you have anything you want to ask us, just drop us a line via our contacts page and we'll do our best to give you a helpful answer.

Projects

The monthly project will still be in PDF format. This month it's some special little things you can make for St Valentine's Day. Click here to download it.

From next month there will be a change in scheduling for the projects. Up until now we've done projects for the relevant month in that month's issue.

Well, with Valentine's Day being in the middle of the month, rather than the end like Halloween and Christmas, we realised that it doesn't give you much time to complete the projects. So from March onwards, we'll be working a month ahead of ourselves.

Next month's projects will be goodies to make for Easter, giving you plenty of time to get them done by April:)

One more thing before I sign off. I had an email this month from a lady called Lyn asking if I had any advice on how to make a hippo. Now, I just love hippos so I was really excited about the idea.

Anyway, I've decided to make a hippo head of my own and let her know how I do it. I can't wait to get started on this and, if Lyn doesn't mind, I'll post the results of my attempt on the site as soon as I get it done.

That's all for this month. I hope you'll join us again for the next issue of Trash to Treasure.

Until then, happy creating,

Karen and Annemarie (who is still sunning herself in glorious South Africa)
