Issue #16, 10th October 2011 Welcome to the October issue of Trash to Treasure. I hope you enjoyed last month's skull project. We have a good one to work on with the kids this month - Annemarie's paper mache fish ornament. In this issue:
1. An Apology I'd like to start this issue with an apology for keeping you waiting. I know the first of the month is more a guideline than an actual firm publication date, but I still find myself going on a massive guilt trip when I don't get it out on time. Things have been a bit crazy at CPM HQ over the last couple of months, and unfortunately not a lot of it has been paper mache related. We're hoping to be back on track over the next week or so though, so hopefully next month's T2T will be with you on the 1st.
2. Your Art A huge thank you goes to Linda for almost single-handedly keeping the website going since the last newsletter. In keeping with the theme of this month's project, she submitted her own lovely fish. You can see them over at the website. Thanks for sharing, Linda. We love them. 3. Our Latest Work Well, as I said, not a lot of PM has been happening round here over the last couple of months but Annemarie has made a lovely metallic look vase for some long grasses. That has its own page up on the site. There are a couple of photos and also a rough guide to how she made it. 4. Paper Mache Fish Tutorial This month's project is Annemarie's paper mache fish. We'd love to see yours if you decide to have a go at making one. You can download it here. 5. Coming Up Next Month Well, I know the rest of this month is still going to be a really busy one for us but, I hope to have more projects finished and more news for you in the November issue. It's also going to be the Christmas project issue, so we'll have some exciting ideas and goodies to make to brighten up your festive season. Remember, if you'd like to share some of your art with us, ask a question, or just get in touch, details of how to are below. That's all for this month. Happy creating until next time, Karen x Getting in Touch If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via our contact form or through the Facebook page. If you have something you'd like to submit to the site, please fill in the submission form on the site. We'd love to see it. To keep up with the latest happenings in between issues, we have a Facebook fan page which you're welcome to join, and take part in. We'd love to see you there. Our tutorial is in PDF format and requires Adobe Reader to view it. You can get a free copy by going to their website if you don't already have it. |
